This was an amazing place to stay. 20 meters from the lake shore.
We were lucky to get a balcony room with a view of the lake. The room was modern, recently done up I would imagine. A spacious room with a super king bed and spacious bathroom. The balcony had great views of the lake and mountains in the distance. The hotel is quiet but road noise can be quiet loud so wouldn't suit everyone. The breakfast had a good variety of items and the service was very friendly and efficient but in saying that all the staff were very friendly. For a lazy day the roof terrace is a great place to spend the day lounging.
Great hotel overlooking the lake! Breakfast was very nice and a great start to the day. Staff are very helpful and helped to show us all the things to do around the lake!
Only downside was the walls were a bit thin so you could hear other rooms and them plugging things in.
Stayed here with my daughter who has lots of food intolerances,.the staff are FANTASTIC and have made special food for her every day. Nothing is too much trouble! Kind, thoughtful, hard working staff who are always happy to go the extra mile to make their guests happy. THANK YOU

That was, frankly speaking, the best of the whole stay at Riviera Hotel.
The room was disgusting and the service terrible.
Mosquitos all over the ceiling, dirty pillows (bloody marks/ sprinkles??!) and a shower cabin where a pregnant woman can’t even turn around.
Generally, the bath was quite dirty.
When we bought a mosquito plough then and it - fortunately - worked, the room service did not even clean up the dead mosquitos. As I’m quite prone to mosquito stitches, the 3-day stay there was quite uncomfortable.
Mentioning the problem, the hotel staff just said sorry and brought new pillows.
At least, the chocolate croissants were incredibly tasty at the breakfast. We just wanted to enjoy our last holiday before the baby arrives.. and for the according price of the room we definitely expected something nicer. ):
Excellent staff, good breakfast and nice facilities. We got a room with a view over the lake. The balconies were good sized but the TV in the room was on the smaller size and not smart. Also it would have been nice to have a more comfy chair in the room. The bed was nice and the fourth floor roof access was brilliant.

Hotel Riviera at Desenzano on Lake Garda is an excellent base to explore Lake Garda. The hotel is clean and spacious, the staff are friendly and the location is great. Situated at a swimming beach (ask hotel for a towel), Hotel Riviera is less than 10 min walk to Desenzano Centro and the ferry wharf. Make sure you reserve a lake view room which have verandas so as to enjoy the view & a wine overlooking a wonderful lake…ask at reception for an ice bucket! The 4th floor roof has good views with chairs & sun beds. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is a serviced buffet with fresh, tasty food with a cappuccino included. There is also a bar & a comfortable lounge area. Double glazed windows and air conditioning means no external noise in the room. We stayed a week in early September 2022 - definitely recommend Hotel Riviera highly.
